Water-based silicon-containing polymer and coating preparation technology

The School of Chemical Engineering of South China University of Technology cooperated with Compton of the United States to carry out research on the preparation of water-borne silicon-containing polymers and their coatings. At present, a series of aqueous silicon-containing polymers have been developed, including nano-sized silicon-containing polymer emulsions. A self-crosslinking type silicon-containing polymer emulsion capable of causing a crosslinking reaction at the time of film formation, a silicon-containing polymer emulsion containing an active group, and the like. Coatings prepared with this polymer have excellent water resistance, weather resistance, solvent resistance and stain resistance, and have broad application prospects in fields such as buildings, wooden furniture, and metal materials.
Silicone-acrylic water-based paints abroad, silicone-acrylic paints have been widely used, while China's silicon-acrylic paints contain less organic silicon, or storage instability, so the improvement in weather resistance, durability is limited.
Based on the national “Ninth Five-Year Plan” key scientific and technological projects, the Northern Coatings Industry Research and Design Institute developed and produced a series of silicon-propylene series coatings through further improvement.
This series of products is based on the use of more than 15% organosilicone-modified acrylate resin as the film-forming substance, which fully utilizes the advantages of acrylic resin in terms of gloss retention, color retention and weatherability, and the coating has excellent UV resistance. . The use of high-quality silicone-acrylic coating on the surface of the object to be coated ensures that the film does not come off in large areas for 15 to 20 years, and only slight light loss occurs.
