A new type of pavement structure project passed the appraisal

In July 2003, the project “Study on Semi-Flexible Pavement Design Methods and Applied Technologies†jointly completed by Jilin Highway Survey and Design Institute and Harbin University of Civil Engineering passed the appraisal. The project fills the technical gap in the highway construction in cold regions of China.
Semi-flexible road surface refers to a new type of road surface formed by pouring special cement with cement as the main component in the asphalt mixture base pavement. It has higher flexibility than cement concrete pavement and higher rigidity than asphalt concrete pavement, so it is resistant to oil, acid and heat. It can not only prevent and control various road diseases, improve the service life of pavement, but also improve the surface function of pavement, and the process is simple. With lower cost, it can be widely used in toll stations, parking lots, gas stations, roads within tunnels, and intersections of city roads, highways, and bus stops.
