Pigment standardization development trend
1.1 Development Trend
According to the WTO/TBT regulations, industrial countries such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan promise to adopt international standards in international trade as the technical basis for market access. At present, although China's pigment industry adopts international standards, the adoption rate of standards and the conversion rate of international standards are higher than those in some areas (such as the coating sector standards), but there is still a big gap compared with developed countries. Therefore, pigment standardization work must be Continue to insist on adopting international standards, increase the level of adoption, promote technological advancement in the industry, increase the competitiveness of pigment products in the international market to promote product exports and achieve good economic benefits, and secondly, attach importance to substantive participation in the revision of international standards. Through unremitting efforts, we have turned passively into initiatives to increase our ability to actively respond to the demands of domestic and foreign markets.
In view of the existing problems in the industry, attention should be paid to the review of old standards, the timely revision of old standards that cannot meet the needs of development, active tracking of the development of high-tech products and the timely implementation of standardization work in these fields, and the development of technical trade measures for products. Investigate and formulate response measures for export products that are greatly influenced by foreign technical trade barriers and imported products that have great impact on the development of China's products; further improve standards and preparation quality, such as strengthening verification testing in standard setting, and paying attention to product users. Regarding the opinions of the standard, try to choose the internationally accepted test method. The development of test instruments should be synchronized with the standard as far as possible; fully demonstrate that the enterprise is the main body of standardization work, give full play to the enthusiasm of enterprises in participating in the standardization work, etc. direction.
1.2 "Eleventh Five-Year" Standard System Revision Plan
1.2.1 According to the results of the rectification and rectification of 2004 national standards, there are 13 standards to be revised and integrated in the field of pigments, including 11 method standards and 2 product standards.
Revised GB/T1710-1979 "Pigment Lightfastness Measurement Method", which is a long-term standard and is an unaccepted item. It is planned to adopt ISO787-15:1986 for revision.
Revise GB/T1713-1989 "Pigment Density Determination Pycnometer Method":
Revise GB/T5211.11-1986 "Determination of pigment water-soluble sulfates, chlorides and nitrates";
Revised GB/T5211.12-1986 Determination of resistivity of pigment water extracts;
Revise GB/T5211.16-1988 "Comparison of the Erasing Power of White Pigments";
The international standards adopted by these standards have been revised and should be promptly revised in accordance with international standards. Among them, the revised "Determination of resistivity of pigment water extracts" and "Comparison of white pigment pigmentation power" have been approved and completed in May 2005 and are pending approval.
Integrated revision of GB/T5211.5-1985 "Determination of water resistance of pigments";
Integrate and revise GB/T5211.6-1985 "Measurement method of pigment acid resistance";
Integrated revision of GB/T5211.7-1985 "Pigment Alkali Resistance Test";
Integrated revision GB/T5211.8-1985 "Pigment oil resistance test method
Integrated revision of GB/T5211.9-1985 "Determination of solvent resistance of pigments";
Integrated revision of GB/T5211.10-1985 "Pigment resistance to wax detection method";
The above six method standards are all pigment tolerance test method standards. There are similarities in the operation contents and they are proposed to be integrated and revised into one standard.
Revised GB/T3184-1993 "Lead Chrome Yellow", the standard is non-equivalent international standard ISO3711:1990, currently can not meet and meet the needs of users, especially the determination of color, tinting strength, selected national standards There are many problems in the setting of indicators for some projects, etc. Many manufacturers and users urgently request amendments to this standard to increase the degree of adoption of standards and to be in line with international standards as soon as possible. The project was approved and completed in May 2005, pending approval.
Revised GB/T1863-1989 "iron oxide red pigment", the standard is non-equivalent to adopt the international standard ISO1248: 1974, some of the main problems in the standard are: part of the test method is too cumbersome and the operation process has problems, it is difficult to implement In addition, the types of products are not comprehensive, and the same international standard ISO1248: 1974 is used for different types of products like HG/T2249-1991 "Oxide Yellow Pigment" and HG/T2250-1991 "iron oxide black pigment". According to the principle of liquidation and rectification, these three standards should be consolidated and revised. In 2003, Germany proposed a revision of the work plan for the international standard ISO1248: 1974. Due to the small number of members participating in the working group, it was not approved. The revision of the national standard is intended to be carried out in accordance with international standards and in accordance with China's national conditions.
1.2.2 One standard to be developed according to the needs of the industry
Formulate the industry standard “water color paste for architectural coatingsâ€.
1.2.3 Conversion Dispersibility Evaluation Method and Dispersion Method Series International Standard 9 Items
ISO 8781-1:1990 "Pigments and extenders - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 1: General";
ISO 8781-2:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 2: Dispersion with an oscillatory mill";
ISO 8781-3:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 3: Dispersion with high-speed stirrers";
ISO 8781-4:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 4: Dispersion with sanders";
ISO 8781-5:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 5: Dispersion with automatic flat mills";
ISO 8781-6:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Dispersion methods for the assessment of dispersion - Part 6: Dispersion with a three-roll mill";
ISO 8781-1:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Method of assessment of dispersion - Part 1: Evaluation of the change in coloring power of coloured pigments";
ISO 8781-2:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Method of assessment of dispersion - Part 2: Evaluation of variation in fineness of grind";
ISO 8781-3:1990 "Pigments and extender pigments - Method of assessment of dispersion - Part 3: Evaluation by change in gloss".
The dispersion performance of pigments is an application performance that users are most concerned about. At present, there is a lack of dispersion method standards and corresponding evaluation standards for dispersion. The adoption of these international standards as soon as possible will, on the one hand, provide users with the basis for choice, and on the other hand will guide enterprises to produce more products that meet the needs of consumers both at home and abroad.
2 Conclusion
With the joint efforts of pigment standardization workers, the standardization of pigments gradually formed a relatively complete standardization work system from scratch and played an important role in the development of China's pigment industry and related fields. However, there are also many problems. We hope that the majority of companies and users will actively pay attention to the development of paint standards at home and abroad, attach importance to substantive participation in international standardization work, and increase the competitiveness of China's paint products in the international market and promote the development of China's paint industry. Work hard.
