Australian scientists find curly hair genes control hair straightness
Australian researchers have found that whether people's hair is curly or straight is controlled by the "curly hair gene."
They are working on a new genetic technology, hoping to give people the freedom to control their hair straightening, so as to avoid the trouble of people going to the hair salon to perm.
Researchers at the Queensland Institute of Medicine in Australia have discovered that it is a gene of hair hyaluronan that controls the degree of curling in people's hair.
The British "Daily Mail" quoted the project leader Nick Martin on the 8th as saying: "This gene has been confirmed to be related to hair growth more than 20 years ago, and they are present in the sheath hair around the root of the hair.
Martin said that it is the variation of this gene that determines the straightness of people's hair. Genetic variation may cause certain amino acid changes, which affect the degree of hair curling.
Right now, researchers are using the above results to develop special genetic pills to enable people to straighten or curl their hair without perm.
However, the most direct use of this research result is to assist the police to draw a portrait of the suspect and to investigate and collect evidence. Through the DNA samples left by criminals at the crime scene, the police can analyze the criminal's hairstyle.
