3 The properties of bamboo fibrils were tested by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, antibacterial testing, thermogravimetric analysis and other routine testing instruments, indicating that bamboo fibrils are a natural cellulose fiber with excellent performance.
3.1 Physical properties of bamboo fibrils The length of the fibers can be made into the length required for the cotton type, the medium length type and the hair type according to the requirements of the user, and the length uniformity is good. 3.2 Antibacterial properties of bamboo fibrils Bamboo fibrils have strong antibacterial and bactericidal effects. The antibacterial properties of bamboo fibrils, flax fibers, ramie fibers and cotton fibers were tested according to AATCC 6538. The results are shown in Table 3. It can be seen that bamboo fibrils have strong antibacterial effect with flax and ramie. The antibacterial effect is unmatched by any artificially added chemical substances. The characteristics of natural, environmental protection, long-lasting and health care are completely different from those of artificially processed antibacterial fibers. And its antibacterial effect has a certain spectral effect. Since bamboo fibrils contain chlorophyll copper sodium, they have a good deodorizing effect. Experiments show that the deodorization rate of bamboo fiber fabric for ammonia is 70% to 72%, and the deodorization rate for acid odor is 93% to 95%. In addition, sodium chlorophyllin is a safe and excellent ultraviolet absorber, so bamboo fiber fabric has good UV protection.
