UN 4GV Packing Dangerous Goods Under Technical Requirements

E: put in a fragile package containing dangerous contents, as shown in Figure 2;

F: fill the internal space of the packing box with cushioning material and hygroscopic material, must ensure that the distance between the fragile glass bottles and between the glass bottle and the inner surface of the packing box is always at least 30mm;

G: Seal the upper part of the box with reinforced tape, as shown in Figure 3;

H: The sealing tape across the box can also be replaced with a plastic sealing tape, as shown in Figure 4.

The above packaging instructions and requirements are based on the typical test of glass bottles and are consistent with the test report. If it meets the requirements of A to H and also meets the special requirements of the report, this type of packaging can also be used on other UN packaging containers that meet UN recommendations and can be used for four transport routines (ADR, RID, IMDG). (ICAO) on.

Based on the current typical licensing and testing, the 4GV outer box can be used for the following fragile packaging without further testing:

I. The inner packaging container and the test packaging container have the same design and have the same or smaller capacity:

a) The inner packaging container and the test packaging container have a similar design, that is, round, square, and the like.

b) The material (glass, plastic, metal, etc.) of the inner packaging container can withstand the collision and stacking pressure equal to or greater than the test packaging container;

c) The inner packaging container and the test packaging container have the same or smaller openings, and the design of the closure (rotary cover, friction cover, etc.) is also similar.

d) Sufficient additional cushioning material to fill the space inside the package and to prevent large movement of the inner packaging container;

e) The inner packaging container is placed in the outer packaging box in the same direction as the test packaging container.

II. If the inner packaging containers used are not fragile (such as metal or plastic packaging), the capacity of these inner packagings may be greater than the test packaging, but their total weight must not exceed the permitted weight.

China's relevant regulations
China's national regulatory authorities have also attached great importance to the packaging of dangerous goods, and have custom-made a set of standards for container materials, packaging technology and packaging marks for dangerous goods packaging. In the "General Technical Conditions for the Transport of Dangerous Goods," special provisions have been made for corrugated boxes. For example, corrugated boxes should have certain bending properties, and there should be no cracks when cutting or creasing. No cracks or skin breaks during assembly. Or excessive bending, the layers should be firmly bonded. Box joints, the use of adhesive tape, lap glue, or lap and nailed with a steel nail or U-shaped nails. In addition, test standards for the performance of corrugated boxes have also been established.
