Birds Eye's Microwave Vegetable Bag

Birds Eye Foods' newly launched Steamfresh vegetables are considered to be a rare microwave-frozen quick-frozen vegetable product that can be handled in just a few minutes without the need for boiling or even cutting. This pre-cut frozen vegetable comes in 12 oz. and now there are nine varieties, including broccoli, carrots, sweet peas, clams, assorted vegetables, sweet corn, and sweet peas, which are sold at supermarkets in the United States. When the package is heated in a microwave oven, the special film bag expands due to the pressure generated by the internal steam, forming a steam trap. The bag has a patented steam technology design vent, called SteamFast®, that releases the steam from the expanded bag and allows it to circulate throughout the cooking process. The bag has a unique steam path on the surface as well as on both ends. The channels are sealed during filling. When the Steamfresh bag is placed in a microwave oven, the accumulated steam pressure can cause it to expand. When the pressure reaches a certain level, the end of the channel opens, releasing steam pressure. During cooking, Steamfast technology ensures that pressure is maintained in the bag while the excess steam pressure is effectively released during microwave cooking. This ensures that the vegetables can be cooked quickly and evenly.

The bag is composed of a reversed gravure printing PET\adhesive\polypropylene structure produced by the Excelsior Packaging Group, and the above design was assisted by the sales strategy consulting company Vertis.
