Steel drums with plastic liners have been around for quite some time. They exist for several reasons:
1 product is easy to move.
2 Easy to clean after use, it can eliminate the residue in the barrel.
3 old barrel reuse value is higher.
4 easy to reuse.
For these and other reasons, it has many economic and environmental advantages, not just a significant reduction in the materials that must be processed.
They can be divided into the following categories:
1 A cylindrical or conical open bucket with a compression molded film bag (pillow pocket or cylindrical bag with a round bottom) with a blown inner liner.
2 Closed or open barrel with lining (having similar performance to closed barrels when the fastening ring of the open barrel is mechanically damaged).
3 Closed bucket with blown (non-movable) lining or flexible (movable) lining.
The first category also belongs to the "flexible lining" that can be attached to the flange by a central closure and is therefore resealable (CDF). This is also an * advantage in terms of processing.
The last category is the combination of blown linings and steel drums, which is the best method from a chemical and mechanical point of view and can be used to hold dangerous goods. However, its use is being increasingly limited, mainly in terms of repair and recycling. This problem also plagues all packages made up of two or more materials that are difficult to separate.
The above economic and environmental benefits can be applied to the following configurations: (see table below)

Reference product â–³; is superior to the reference product; is inferior to the reference product.
The superiority of a closed 1AI steel drum with a flexible lining is shown from this simplified table. It is mainly caused by the incomplete mechanical properties of the open barrel.
Since I don't know all the details of performance and cost, I think this simplification may be controversial. However, for the company, this inference supports our focus on the last row of this table.
This work began in cooperation with Dao-Chemical Company two or three years ago. They developed flexible materials suitable for this purpose. At the last meeting of the Saint-Georges, Mr. Doo of the Chemical Company had talked about this when introducing the XO-liner.
The main objectives of the XD lining:
1 Eliminate the residue in the IAI barrel.
2 Easy to control the handling of hazardous waste.
3 Reduce hazardous waste in the recycling cycle of the old barrel.
Since then, the XD program has made significant progress. These linings were introduced to selected markets, and many attempts were made, as well as the selective production of a small number of products for certain customers.
Need to solve the following problems using XD lining:

Several of these designs have been patented.
Note: The lining material does not replace the inner coating required for the contents of the drum. Once the liner is broken during use, the contents are still safe.
The components of the XD steel drum:
1 A standard closed barrel with or without internal coating with 2" and 3/4" T. S. Supporting device.
2 The inner liner with the fastening device is inserted into the middle barrel through the 2" injection hole.
3 Open the lining in the bucket by compressing the air.

The following is a slide explanation of the components and the manufacturing process. Summary of information:
1 Three-card fastening standard 1AI barrel with 2′′ BS.P.
260mm4003 flexible lining.
8 mesh lining opening 52.5mm (M54), replacing 56.5mm (2" BSP fastening device).
4 lining weight 155 grams, including PE plug M54).
5 size slightly larger seal cap, standard seam welder.
Design Features:
1 double leak-proof reinforcement (lined with a plug, lined with a bucket).

The functions can be summarized as follows:

At present, we use the following applicable standards, which need further development: (product, performance, handling)

The exclusion criteria so far are:
1 cannot be compatible with ULDPE.
2 volatile, solvent-based products.
8 easy to repair products.
4 The process of requiring the barrel opening to be 56.5 mm.
5 low viscosity, low price products.
6 very dangerous products (relative to inhalants, etc.)
7 requires the barrel to heat more than 70 0C products.
