Body Packaging Technology

The body-fitting package is similar to the blister package and consists of three parts: a plastic sheet, a heat seal coating and a card substrate. Its use has two aspects: First, rely on transparency, as a sales package for display shelves, the typical way is hanging; the other is protective, especially packaging some complex or fragile, afraid of extrusion products, such as Computer disks, lamps, maintenance accessories, toys, gifts, and porcelain sets. In this respect, it can even replace cushioned liners, on-site foaming, and rigid foam packaging.
First, the body-packaging method operation process Body-packed packaging and blister packaging in the operation method is different, the main difference lies in three aspects: First, do not use the mold, but the packaged material as a mold; Second, only use the vacuum Blistering is used for thermoforming; thirdly, many small holes must be machined on the substrate for vacuuming. These differences have advantages and disadvantages and will be compared in detail later.
The basic operation of body-fit packaging is shown in Figure 11-5.
(a) Commodities are placed on a substrate and sent to a vacuum pumping platform. The plastic film is clamped by the holder and heated and softened.

(c) Start vacuuming, squeezing the film tightly into the product and heat sealing it onto the substrate to form a firm package;
(d) Deliver the packaged package.

The substrate for body-fit packaging requires a small hole. The method is to pass through the substrate board with a needle roller to open the hole. The diameter of the hole is about 0.15mm, and about 3 to 4 per square centimeter.
Second, the choice of body packaging materials and packaging machine 1. The most common plastic sheets currently used for packaging materials are polyethylene and ionomers. When packing small and light goods, use 100-200 μm thick ionic polymer sheets; when packing large and heavy goods, use 200-400 μm thick polyethylene sheets. The substrate is usually white cardboard and coated corrugated cardboard.
When selecting materials, consider the use, size, shape, and weight of the product. For sales packaging, emphasis should be placed on the transparency and severability of the sheet, as well as the curling of the cardboard. For protective transport packages, the appearance, heat absorption, puncture resistance, and deep tensile properties of the sheet are taken into consideration.
2. Body-fit packaging machines Body-fit packaging machines are generally manual type, simple in structure, and inexpensive; because the replacement type does not require replacement of the mold, it is flexible. During the operation, the commodity is placed into the substrate board by hand, and the sheet is clamped in the holder, and then the blister processing process is performed. Semi-automatic, in addition to placing the substrate and the goods, the rest of the process is automatic.
Recently there has been a kind of POSIS-PAC packaging system with a high degree of automation, up to 5 ~ 6m/min, and the packaging effect is very good. A schematic diagram of its operation is shown in Figure 11-6.
