Section 4 Hot Stamping Technology - 2

(6) Hot Stamping Adhesive Material Hot Stamping Adhesive Material, which means that the hot stamping material is not adhered to the foil, because the hot stamping material itself has no bonding ability or insufficient bonding ability. The binder.
1. Adhesive powder Adhesive powder refers to powdery adhesion aids, and there are three common ones:
(1) Rosin Powder Rosin powder is obtained by crushing a resin obtained by cutting from a pine trunk, and the main component is rosin acid. Rosin is a yellow crystalline glassy substance that is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol and ether. Rosin melts when exposed to heat and has strong binding capacity but is brittle. The rosin powder is spread on the object to be heated and can fully enter the pores of the object to be heated. Under the conditions of heat and pressure, the rosin powder is melted and the hot stamping material is adhered to the surface of the object to be heated. Its use is as follows:
1 When using the rosin powder spread in the hot place, there are two methods: one is to use cotton yarn powder coating; the other with a net-type tool coating;
2 Rosin powder is only suitable for use on the surface of hot stamping fabrics, because the surface of the fabric has fibrous pores. The powdery adhesive can be penetrated into the fabric, and the adhesive effect is good after hot pressing;
3 Rosin powder is not suitable for smearing on smooth materials such as linoleum, leather and PVC. Because the sliding property of the powder itself is large, coating on the smooth body will cause the powder to fall off or move due to shaking during operation, which will affect the hot stamping process;
4 The use of rosin powder should not be applied too much, should be less and even as appropriate.
(2) Protein powder protein powder is another kind of co-adhesive powder. It is made from the egg protein. Protein is a kind of macromolecule compound, soluble in water, has a certain binding ability, but it will precipitate under the action of strong acid, alkali and organic solvent; its performance will also change under the conditions of high temperature, high pressure, stirring, oscillation and ultraviolet ray irradiation. If heated to 60°C, the protein becomes opaque and insoluble in water (condensation).
The protein powder can be made by itself. The method is to first remove the egg yolk, and then put the remaining egg white in a smooth and clean reservoir, dry it and dry it into powder. The finer the better, it can be used. Use the following two points when using it.
1 According to the amount of protein powder used to make, should not be too much, because the protein is prone to bacteria and cause corruption. Proteins contain amino acids, which tend to deliquesce and decrease in viscosity when the humidity is high;
2 There are two ways to use, the same with the rosin powder; at the same time should not be applied to the smooth body;
(3) Hot Stamping Powder Hot stamping powder is an adhesive powder sold on the market. It is a powdered adhesive material made of rosin, shellac and other substances mixed together in a certain proportion.
The bronzing powder can be used after purchase, without adding any other ingredients. This bronzing powder is easy to use and can be stored for a certain period of time, but at a slightly more expensive price. Use the same method as other adhesive powders.
2. Adhesive liquid Adhesive fluid refers to a liquid adhesion promoter, which is commonly used in two ways:
(1) shellac shellac also known as shellac, dry paint and so on. The main components of shellac are the esters of light acid, insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in esters and hydrocarbons. Shellac is soft, softened by heat, and decomposed at higher temperatures. Due to its strong bonding properties, it can be used as a good binder for hot stamping materials. The alcohol in the shellac can also be stained on smooth objects. Its use is:
1The shellac is added to the alcohol before it is used for 10 hours before use. The method is: first, the shellac is placed into a certain amount of alcohol, and the bottle cap is sealed. The proportion of alcohol and shellac is generally 100-200g of shellac per 500g of alcohol;
After 210h, the shellac and alcohol are mixed into a liquid colloid, that is, before use, shake or stir evenly before use;
3 When using cotton swabs, apply it to the hot stamping position;
4 Shellac is used in liquid form and has brown color. It can only be used on the surface of smooth body (such as lacquer, leather, PVC coating). Do not apply it on fabrics. Because the brown shellac spreads on the fabric, it penetrates into the gaps of the fabric, discolors or marks the fabric, and causes the surface to become dirty.
(2) Protein liquid removal The powdery protein adhesive can be used for hot stamping. It can also be applied directly to the fabric surface to bind the hot stamping material. The method is: after the protein solution is raised from the eggs, the cotton mass is directly wiped and applied on the hot print.
In addition to proteolytic bacteria, protein liquid is also easy to dry, do not use too much extraction, use casually with the extraction, not stored.
In practice, metal foils and color chips must be used for hot stamping, because these hot stamping materials have no adhesive ability or poor bonding ability. When the hot foil or colored foil is not hot enough, under the condition that other conditions are normal, auxiliary powder or sticky liquid can also be used to achieve the purpose of hot stamping.

Second, hot stamping equipment can be galvanized aluminum foil hot stamping material through the hot pressure transfer printing machinery called the stamping machine. The development of the stamping machine experienced a manual, semi-automatic to automatic development process, from the development of flat hot stamping to line contact hot stamping, so that the labor intensity is reduced, the hot stamping quality is improved, and the hot stamping format is expanded. At present, the hot stamping machine is developing to a large-size hot stamping web, the hot stamping temperature and the control of the incoming foil are being controlled by the computer, and the continuous paper is being automated.
(1) Types and Characteristics of Hot Stamping Machines Hot stamping machines are classified into hot stamping methods, which can be divided into three types: flat pressure, circular pressure and circular pressure. The most commonly used in China is a flattening type. According to the degree of automation, hot stamping machine can be divided into manual, semi-automatic and automatic three. According to the type of the whole machine, the hot stamping machine can be divided into two types of horizontal.
The fuselage structure of the hand-type (hand-feeding) flat-pressing hot stamping machine is similar to the structure of the flat pressure type stamping machine. The difference is that the ink fountain and the ink roller device are removed, and the electro-aluminum foil upper and lower reels are modified. Hand-feeding flat presses are characterized by easy operation, easy to grasp hot stamping quality, small machine size, but the speed is subject to certain restrictions, about 1000-1200 prints per hour.
Flat automatic stamping machine, its fuselage structure and device are basically the same as the manual platen stamping machine, the difference is that the paper feeding and delivery are delivered by mechanical teeth. Features are high degree of automation, low labor intensity, speed up to 1200-2000 India.
The fuselage structure of the round flat stamping stamping machine is similar to that of a rotary printing press. The difference is that the ink fountain and the ink roller device are removed, and the anodized aluminum front and rear winding rollers are modified. Because the hot stamping machine and the hot stamping part are in contact with the thread, the pressure is greater than the hot stamping method of the plane contact. At the same time, the speed of the reciprocating rotation can be greater than the reciprocating linear motion of the flattened flattening. Generally, the speed can reach 1500-2000 printing.
Round press round hot stamping machine, hot stamping mode is also the "line contact" continuous rotation.
Manual and semi-automatic machines are mostly used for short editions and products with short delivery times and not too large quantities; fine high-end and large-volume products can use high-precision horizontal flat automatons; vertical automatic hot stamping (die cutting) The dual-purpose machine can be used for products with large quantities and more frequent adjustments. The accuracy of the round-press flat automatic machine is good, but because the pressure is not too great, it is necessary to pay attention to the requirements of printing products when selecting.
(B) The basic structure of the hot stamping machine The basic structure of the hot stamping machine is based on the vertical flat stamping stamping machine used by most printing companies in the country. It consists of the following parts:
(1) The body frame includes an outer body, a delivery table, and a delivery table.
(2) The hot stamping device includes an electrothermal plate, a hot plate, an imprint plate, and a bottom plate. The electric heating plate is fixed on the printing plate platform. The electric heating plate is equipped with a circuitous heating wire with a power of 600-2500W; the bottom plate is an aluminum plate with a thickness of about 7mm for pasting the hot stamping plate; the hot stamping plate is a corroded copper plate or zinc plate. , Characterized by good heat transfer, not easily deformed, pressure, abrasion resistance; imprinted version is usually aluminum or iron plate.
(3) The galvanized aluminum conveyor consists of a reel, a reel and a delivery roller, an anodized aluminum rewinding roller and a feed mechanism. Electrochemical aluminum is mounted on a reel, and the embossed electro-aluminum passes between the two reels, and the feed reel mechanism composed of a cam, a connecting rod, a ratchet, and a pawl drives the intermittent rotation of the reel. The intermittent rotation of the take-up reel enables the feeding of the galvanized aluminum. The feeding distance is set to the length of the hot stamping pattern. Hot stamped anodized aluminum rolls on the take-up roll.
The general stamping machine basically has the above structure, and the more advanced stamping machine has some special devices and functions in addition to the above common parts. For example, the P801-TB type paper stamping press can also be equipped with three different sets of electro-aluminum at a time. One of the sets has a stepping function, which is controlled by an integrated circuit computer, a fluorescent jumper, and a digital display. Step accurate, the error is very small (less than 1mm), imprinted version of a pendulum swing, that is, to complete a hot stamping process.
