Heidelberg's Quickmaster DI 46-4 is the world's most successful and profitable (for both Heidelberg and customers) direct imaging presses. In recent years, many manufacturers have entered the direct imaging market.
Currently available system prices range from $350,000 to $1.5 million, and the format size ranges from 2 pages to 8 pages. Both traditional dampening and waterless offset printing are available, and the range of plates that they handle is also similar.
