1, shrink labels

In the label field, shrink labels occupy an important position and are often used for the promotion of new products including beverages, dairy products, powdered foods, and fast foods. Mainly used for shrink sleeves, full seal labels, bottle caps and cap closures, security tapes and bundled packaging. The shrink label has the characteristics of good gloss and fit, and can be used to redefine the beverage brand. Its luster and shrinkage can make the packaging pattern on the bottled beverage more vivid. With the shrink film, the bottle with novel shape can be designed and the eye-catching color can be used to realize the 360° label design and highlight the image on the supermarket shelf. Demand for shrink labels grows at an annual rate of 20%.

At present, the shrink label is mainly PVC shrink film. From the perspective of environmental protection, there is an urgent need to develop a shrink film based on OPS and PETG as a substitute for PVC. Due to its light weight, high shrinkage, and excellent printing performance, OPS is widely used in the labeling and full sealing of polyester bottled soft drinks as well as the shrink packaging of optical discs. PETG shrink labels can be used for daily necessities, label sleeves for edible oil packaging containers and other industrial shrink wraps.

Due to the gradual ban on the use of PVC labels in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and European countries, environmental-friendly shrink labels will have great development in recent years. As a new type of biaxially stretched film, OPS and PETG shrink film are currently at a blank in China, and their development and application have broad market prospects.

2, in-mold label

In-mold labels have been popular for many years in Europe, America and other countries due to their beautiful appearance, good anti-counterfeiting effect, environmental protection for recycling, and high-volume production prices that are lower than ordinary labels, and have entered a period of stable development. In the domestic label market, as an innovative labeling method, in-mold labeling has attracted the attention of many companies, and a small number of end users in China have begun to use in-mold labeling. However, due to the wide range of developments in in-mold labeling, The entire industry chain including raw material suppliers, hard packaging equipment suppliers, hard packaging manufacturers, label printing companies, and end-users is involved, and only the entire production chain has a certain foundation before it can be rapidly developed. Therefore, it is still in the late stage of waiting and seeing in China, but its development is inevitable. After five years of market cultivation, it will become a fast-growing industry.

The appearance of in-mold labels is the result of advances in the development of materials, printing, and inks. The earliest domestic emergence of in-mold labels was more than two years ago. With the development of labeling technology, the price of label materials has declined, and in-mold labels have developed in recent years.

In-mold labels are made of plastic or paper coated with a special hot melt adhesive and can be used in blow molding, injection molding and thermoforming processes. The manufacturing process is: the robot sucks up the printed in-mold label, places it in the mold, and melts the hot-melt adhesive on the back of the label inside the mold by melting the plastic melt, so that the label and the container are melted in the mold. As one. The biggest difference between in-mold labeling and traditional labeling is that the labeling method is different. In-mold labeling is not performed after the plastic container is completely molded, but is molded once with the container. As a new type of label, in-mold label has many advantages.

In-mold labels are mainly used in cosmetics, cosmetic products, pharmaceuticals, and lubricants. Since the in-mold label is naturally integrated with the bottle body and deformed with the deformation of the bottle body, no blisters, wrinkles, etc. will occur. In addition, in-mold labels use film and paper materials in foreign countries. Many film materials are used in the country. The surface of the film does not absorb ink. Therefore, the label has a bright color and a strong three-dimensional effect. The color effect is obviously better than that of paper materials, and it can perfectly reflect the exquisiteness. Patterns and small text. The experts used a very graphic metaphor to illustrate this problem: In-mold labeling is like putting a painting in a wall, making the painting and the wall a whole, and achieving natural harmony.

At present, the price of in-mold labels is twice that of self-adhesive labels, which largely hinders the promotion of in-mold labels. There are three reasons why it is expensive. First, the monopoly, this technology has not yet been popularized in China. Only a few companies have mastered the technology of in-mold labeling, resulting in high prices due to monopoly. Second, the production process is more complicated and the technology content is higher. Third, the loss is relatively large. If you use ordinary sheet-fed offset or flexo printing, it may cause a high scrap rate, and use a special labeling machine.

The anti-counterfeiting function of the in-mold label is one of the important reasons why many manufacturers choose it. The development of self-adhesive labeling technology in China is very mature, so imitation is quite easy. The in-mold label is produced together with the bottle body and cannot be faked unless the bottle body is copied together. However, this technology is only known in a few domestic enterprises, and the use of in-mold labels requires special molds and the production cost of the molds. A higher set of molds cost several hundred thousand dollars, raising the difficulty and cost of counterfeiting. Therefore, the anti-counterfeit feature is most promising to customers. Currently, in-mold labels have been used by many customers in China, such as Rejoice, Uniform Lubricants, Wangzhi and Condiment Series, and Xi'an Kaimi's detergents. To a large extent, they are directed at their anti-counterfeit features. . At present, the end-users of in-mold labels are concentrated in the lubricants, cosmetics, daily chemicals, and pharmaceutical industries. The environmental protection of in-mold labels is a reason favored by many manufacturers because the in-mold label and the bottle body are integrated and the chemical composition is the same. Recycling rate is very high; In addition, the security of the in-mold label is an important reason for the manufacturer's investment. The cost of the label mold is relatively high (the number of sets of molds is several tens of thousands of yuan), virtually increasing the difficulty of factory counterfeiting, so the domestic does not Less customers choose it for added anti-counterfeiting capabilities.

3, RFID tags

RFID tags are developed on the basis of electronic technology. It has a huge amount of information stored, and it is flexible and non-contact reading and writing, and has a strong adaptability to the environment. According to F&S's analysis and forecast of the global RFID tag application market, by 2009, the global RFID market will increase from 2 billion U.S. dollars in 2003 to 10 billion U.S. dollars.

The field of application of RFID tags continues to expand, rapidly infiltrating into various fields. RFID tags in the logistics and warehousing, manufacturing, commercial retail, commodity anti-counterfeiting, transportation, military and other fields of national defense and other fields of experimental and practical applications are gradually starting. For example, the global retail giant Wal-Mart asked its suppliers to put RFID tags on their products.

The application of RFID tags in logistics is larger than other markets. If RFID technology can be closely linked with the electronic supply chain, it is likely to replace the bar code scanning technology. But this is not the only market. The development of emerging markets is equally important for the development of RFID tags. In the long run, some investments should be made outside the logistics field. For example, product-level RFID tags can be used for anti-counterfeiting of medical supplies, air baggage and book management, livestock breeding management, and even prisoner prison management.

China started late in this regard, RFID tag market is still in its infancy, there is a considerable gap between the application of RFID and the international. For example, the frequency of RFID tags has been basically determined in Europe, North America and some parts of Asia, but China has not yet approved it. Moreover, there are problems such as weak basic R&D strength in the domestic market, insufficient participation of enterprises in standardization, and most domestic companies taking a wait-and-see attitude.

4, digital labels

As a complement to traditional printing methods, digital printing offers greater flexibility and better cost-effectiveness. Variable data printing can also be achieved, and batch backlogs of printed labels in warehouses no longer occur. Moreover, with the gradual improvement of the performance of digital printing presses, the range of printing materials used has become increasingly widespread, and digital printing has also been applied more and more in the field of packaging and printing. Digital printing technology first entered the field of packaging and printing is for variable data printing and short-run label printing.

The digital labeling solution with variable data printing capabilities enables label printing companies to quickly provide short-run labels at low cost, achieve long-term compatibility, expand business scope, and provide a low-cost solution for printing customers. , to meet the customer's multi-dimensional needs. Personalized printing meets the needs of users for product segmentation in the market: Anti-counterfeit printing provides customers with safer full-service, further enhancing their market competitiveness.

Currently, digital presses for label printing are available in monochrome, such as the VaryPress 200 and 400 from Nipson, and also in color, such as common Fuji Xerox DocuColori Gen3, Kodak's NexPress 2100, and Océ CPS700. The most common label digital printers on the market come from two major suppliers, HP Indigo and Xeikon.

5, transparent film label

For most manufacturers, the real label is no label, or a label that cannot be seen from the outside. This is the very popular transparent PET label. Transparent labels can show internal products, consumers have more confidence when buying. Consumer preferences are one of the main drivers of transparent labels. The second is the improvement of the matrix material, especially the thin film. Film thickness stability, printability, and transparency have all improved greatly in recent years, allowing processors to print crisper graphics and provide more robust labeling products.

Among the many improvements, the most important is the use of polyolefin films more widely. Polyolefin films outperform styrene or vinyl films. The advantages of transparency, firmness, function, and thickness of olefin films, especially polypropylene films, are very obvious. As the film quality is more stable, the printing effect is evenly balanced. Film processors hope to improve the quality of their products by using special films. Some olefin film applications require different coatings in different areas, but the manufacturer's R&D focus is still on general-purpose products. The printed thickness of olefin products is thinner than ordinary films, and the presence of labels can be reduced more when designing. Some manufacturers are trying to thin the film thickness from 2 mils to 1 mil.

6, transparent PP in-mold labels

The transparent material can reflect the color of the container itself, so that the label and the container can be harmoniously combined to truly achieve the "no label" effect. The transparent inner label solves the common problem of edge-hanging of the transparent PP and PE self-adhesive labels, reduces the cost compared to the expensive bottle body screen printing, and has better printing effect itself, and is also suitable for hot and cold bronzing. Therefore, when the transparent PP in-mold label is put on the market, it is widely used in the daily chemical industry and packaging industry that pay attention to the appearance of the container. Taking into account the user's increasingly stringent cost control of its product containers, Japan's YuPo recently introduced a white "thin" high-light in-mold label. The "thin" material has better performance than the widely used high-gloss PP in-mold materials from the printing adaptability to the molding effect. Industry insiders predict that "thin" materials will gradually replace the first generation of high-intensity in-mold materials. One of the reasons is that users can lower their labels with almost no changes (ie, no adjustments to mold equipment and printing processes are required). The second reason is that the use of "thin" materials can increase the strength of the container. In terms of environmental protection and cost, more and more users use thinner or lighter containers, and combining “thin” materials allows thinner containers to also use in-mold labels and increase the strength of the containers.

7, low density in-mold label

A white "low density" in-mold label from YuPo, Japan, has attracted peer attention. "Low density" materials have the following characteristics: First, the printing effect is good, the second is the high speed of molding, and the third is the lower requirements of the molding equipment and the molding conditions. Since the low density material has good softness and surface smoothness, the printing effect is good, and because of its low density, the label shrinks with the shrinkage of the bottle during the molding of the container, so the molding equipment and the molding conditions are not Not harsh. The cooling time can be increased and the demoulding temperature can be higher, which creates the conditions for improving the efficiency. Containers made of "low-density" materials, after cooling, have a phenomenon similar to that of orange peel, abbreviated as "orange peel" phenomenon, and some manufacturers call it "cloth pattern" in-mold label. The "orange peel" material and the high-gloss material have different appearances after molding and have a refreshing effect. In Europe and the United States, "orange peel" materials are widely used in the chemical and food industries.

8, electronic tag management system

Japan's fish market has begun trials of "electronic tag management systems." The system attaches electronic tags containing IC chips to packages containing fish products. The electronic tags record the information of the distribution routes. Consumers obtain various information of fish products by reading the electronic tags. According to reports, this measure is implemented to increase the "safe added value" of specialty fish. The system is equipped with an IC chip and an antenna for reading, and a dedicated recorder is used to input the identification number to the tag in advance. The label records the weight of the fish and the time of packing. At the same time, it can record the arrival time of the fish at the market and the store during the circulation. Consumers can use the readers installed in the store to obtain this information. In addition to fish products, some products also have such a system. The seal attached to the box has a website for searching and can be searched.
